Mobile Personal Training

Gold Coast & South Brisbane

Hi, I’m Lucus.
I bring strength into your week.

Strength training for adults over 50, in groups of two or three, at your home or a local park on the Gold Coast. I come to you and I bring the equipment — and because I’m a qualified physiotherapist, the program is built around your history, not a template.

01 / Why this exists

Most training over 50
isn’t built for you.

Group fitness moves too fast, gym floors are crowded and loud, and a generic program ignores the knee you had replaced, the shoulder that clicks, or the bone density scan sitting in your inbox. So most people stop, and the loss of strength that follows is quiet and steady.

The alternative isn’t harder training. It’s training that is measured, supervised closely, and small enough that every rep gets corrected — at your place, at a time that fits the rest of your week.

02 / How you train

Four things I work on
with everyone who starts.

Drop a strength-training photo

Strength: loads heavy enough to matter

Light bands and long walks keep you moving; they don’t rebuild what you’ve lost. We progress real load — squat to a box, carry, press, hinge — at the smallest increment that still makes the next six weeks better than the last.

Drop a balance-work photo

Balance: the near-misses you stop having

Single-leg work, step-downs, and loaded carries on uneven ground. Balance is trainable at any age, and it is the difference between a stumble you recover from and a fall you don’t.

Drop a small-group session photo

Supervision: capped at three, every rep corrected

Two or three people, matched on ability, each running their own program inside the session. Small enough that I can see your technique change, and good company on the mornings you’d rather have stayed in bed.

Drop an equipment / home-setup photo

Convenience: I come to you, with the equipment

Your home, a local park, or your own gym. Nothing to buy, no car park to find, no membership to keep justifying. The session that happens is the one that fits the rest of your week.

03 / Who it is for

The people we usually train.

Clients in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond, most of them managing something specific. If one of these is you, you are in ordinary company here.

Adults over 50, starting again

You were active once, life got in the way, and the first step back feels like the hardest part. It is, so we make it small and supervised.

Older woman performing a kettlebell squat, the kind of progressive loading used in training for low bone density

A bone density scan that came back low

Progressive loading and impact work are the part of the plan a walking habit cannot cover.

Woman in her fifties lifting dumbbells during a strength session, training through menopause and after

Menopause and post-menopause

Strength, sleep, body composition and joint comfort shift together, and general fitness advice tends not to acknowledge any of it.

Cantonese and Mandarin speakers

A fluent Cantonese or Mandarin speaker with clinical training is genuinely hard to find here. You should not have to choose between the language and the qualification.

Older adult lifting a barbell under close supervision, progressing from rehabilitation into strength training

Finished with rehab, unsure what is next

Rehabilitation got you out of pain and then stopped, because that is where its job ends. The gap between discharged and strong is where most people stall.

Experienced older lifter working with dumbbells in a gym, already active and training for performance

Already active, and stuck

You run, you lift, you have done the events, and the numbers stopped moving. This client tends to make the fastest gains, because the base is already there.

05 / How we start

Four steps, and the first one
costs you nothing.

No contracts, no lock-in, and no obligation to continue after the first block. Here’s exactly what happens between your enquiry and your first session.

01

A short phone call

Ten minutes. What you want back, what hurts, what you’ve tried. I’ll tell you honestly if I’m the right fit.

02

Baseline session

The four tests, at your place. You leave with your numbers written down and a first program to your name.

03

Six weeks of training

One or two sessions a week, in a group of two or three, or one to one. I bring everything we need.

04

Retest and decide

Same tests, same conditions. We compare, adjust the program, and you choose whether to run another block.

04 / Getting started

Four steps, no gym membership

01. A conversation first

A short phone call about what you want back, your health history, and whether training with others appeals.

02. First session

We run the four baseline tests — sit-to-stand, grip, balance, carry — then train. You'll do real work on day one.

03. Your program

Written around your baseline, your conditions, and the equipment available where we train. Progressed weekly.

04. Retest at six weeks

The same four tests, repeated. You see the numbers move — which is usually when people stop needing convincing.

Before your first session

Clear a space of roughly 3 × 3 metres, indoors or out. Meeting at a park? I’ll suggest one nearby.

Wear whatever you can move in, and shoes you’d walk in.

Bring a list of medications and conditions. A recent bone-density scan or surgery is useful to know about.

If you’re under a doctor or physiotherapist for something specific, please check with them first — I’m happy to speak with them.

04 / Ways to train

In person, or online

Three ways to work with us, and the first thing to settle is simply whether we can come to you. The programming is the same either way. What changes is how much of it happens in front of us.

In person

Your home, a local park, or a gym if you’d rather, in groups of two or three matched on ability and goals. The check-in, warm-up, session and stretch all fit inside the hour. Bring your own pair, or I’ll place you in a forming group.

Session by session

No commitment. Pay as you go. Book as it suits you, on your own or with one or two others.

  • 1-on-1
    $110 per session
  • 1-on-2
    $85 per person, per session
  • 1-on-3
    $75 per person, per session

The 12 week program

12 one-hour sessions, one a week, as two six-week blocks, plus a written home program for the days between. Designed and coached by a physiotherapist. Your own program inside the group session

  • 1-on-1
    $1,188 total for 12 weeks
  • 1-on-2
$918 per person for 12 weeks
  • 1-on-3
$810 per person for 12 weeks

Equivalent to 10% off standard session rates when calculated across the program duration.

Online coaching

For when you are outside the service area, you travel, or you already train confidently and need programming rather than supervision.

The weekly plan

Everything is delivered remotely, on your own schedule.

  • Per week
    $70 a week
  • Full 12 week program
    $840 in total

Additional fees may apply for travel outside the Gold Coast and south Brisbane, and for commercial gym sessions. Anytime Pickle members receive 5% off all services.

01 / How you train

Two or three people, or just you

Small groups are the heart of this — a little cheaper per person, more consistent, and considerably better company than a solo hour.

Small group training

Two or three people per group, matched on ability and goals. Bring your own pair, whether that is a partner, a friend or a neighbour, or I’ll place you in a forming group.

The things people ask first

Everything worth knowing before you get in touch.

I haven’t trained in years. Am I too far behind to start?

No. Almost everyone I work with starts from a long way back, and the first block is deliberately conservative — we find where you actually are on day one and build from there. If a group would move too fast for you right now, I’ll say so and we’ll start one to one.

Is this physiotherapy?

No. Alpine is personal training. I’m a qualified physiotherapist and that shapes how I program around injuries and conditions, but I don’t assess, diagnose or treat here. If that’s what you need, I’ll refer you to a physiotherapist who does.

What if I have osteoporosis, arthritis, or a heart condition?

Most conditions are trainable with the right programming, and several improve with it. Please clear exercise with your GP first, tell me what they’ve said, and I’ll build around it. If something falls outside what’s safe for personal training, I’ll tell you plainly rather than guess.

Do you come to my house?

Yes. Alpine is a mobile service across the Gold Coast, so sessions run at your home, in a park near you, or at a gym you already belong to. There is no studio to drive to and nothing to join. I bring the weights, the bands and everything else the session needs.

Where on the Gold Coast do you travel?

Burleigh Heads and the surrounding suburbs, with sessions at your home, a local park, or your own gym. If you’re a little further out, it usually still works.

How much space do I need at home?

About three metres by three metres of clear floor, which most living rooms have once a coffee table moves. A garage, a driveway or a patch of lawn works just as well. If your space genuinely will not do the job, I will say so on the first visit and we will use a park instead.

Do I need a gym membership or any equipment?

Neither. I bring everything the session needs — weights, bands, a step, a dynamometer for grip testing. All you need is a patch of floor, a driveway, or a park bench.

Who will I be training with?

Two or three people, matched on ability and goals — often a couple, two friends, or neighbours. If you don’t have a pair, I’ll place you in a forming group. Two groups are forming now, three people each.

How do I find two people to train with?

Plenty of people bring a partner, neighbour, or friend. If you don’t have anyone, say so when you enquire and I’ll match you into a forming group of similar age and ability. Groups are capped at three so nobody gets lost in the crowd.

How often should I train?

Once a week produces real change in the first block; twice a week produces more. Most people start once a week, see the six-week retest, and then decide.

Can I claim this on Medicare or private health?

Personal training isn’t claimable under Medicare, and most private health funds don’t cover it either. Some funds offer a general health or “living well” benefit that may apply — worth a quick call to yours. Payment is direct, online, at the time of booking.

Two groups forming now, three people each

Ready to be strong
for the life you want?

Send the form and I’ll be in touch within a day — usually the same afternoon. The first conversation is a phone call, not a sales pitch, and nothing is booked until you’re comfortable.
